Well, there are brows – your every day, neither here nor there, unremarkable strips of hair above your eyes kind of affairs – then there are BROWS – face framing, eye catching, make you look fabulous, ought to have their own Twitter account kind of brows. Unless you’re Cara Delevingne, Brooke Shields or from the ‘blessed of brow’ gang, your brows probably fall into the first category. Mine did too, until I came across my lovely little beauty must have…Benefit Brow Zings.
Although Glowology brings you the latest and greatest news and tips on how to look and feel good in the skin that you’re in, I’m also a big believer in shouting out about those little – or big – things in life that help brighten our day and put a skip in our step. And what better day to bring these nuggets of joy than on a Wednesday! It’s mid week limbo day – even researchers have found it’s Wednesdays rather than Monday’s that leave as feeling a little blah…
If you were on Family Fortunes and they asked you to name a popular hairstyle, I bet the answer Ponytail would get you the highest score. It’s a style that’s been around for years and when done properly, can make your 2 minutes of effort look amazing. But beware the versions that give ponytails a bad name such as the much giggled at Croydon Facelift, where it’s scraped up and back so tightly, your eyes and forehead wind up heading north giving you a ‘stuck in a wind tunnel or battered with Botox’ look, or the bland ‘I couldn’t be bothered, I’m off to Lidl’ look, which is a greasy, loosely tied at the nape of the neck with zilch effort affair. The perfect ponytail can pack a punch with just a few minutes of coiffing. Here’s how…
I came across this little complexion flatterer in my September Glossybox and will be forever grateful. You know that to get a place in my Friday’s Fabulous Beauty Flash post, a product has to be pretty darn special, so it goes without saying that my days aren’t the same if my Mememe Cherub’s Blush Cheek and Lip Tint goes
in one of my daughters’ makeup bags astray.
I was immediately drawn to the ethereal name and so was really pleased when the results lived up to it. The tint has a watery consistency which I thought would be a bit drying, but although it sinks in quickly, it isn’t drying at all. Using the slim brush, I sweep a couple of lines across the apple of my cheeks before blending up to my hair line and it leaves my complexion looking as if I’ve had a good, long walk in the fresh London air (cough cough). Being a balm and gloss junkie, I apply the tint to my lips after a clear balm, otherwise it looks quite matte – which is great for some, but as you know, I prefer a little sheen.
The colour looks quite dark and vampy in the bottle, more suitable to a dramatic evening look, but actually, the tint is more like the subtle pinky purple juice of a bitten blueberry – for want of a poetic description! And the price tag? A cheeky little £5.50.
