Dreams and Plans for Glowology!

Happy Tuesday! As we head into week-can’t-remember of lockdown, I wanted to say a big thank you. I’m so chuffed that I’ve recently gained lots of new followers and am now over 2,500 on Instagram. So thank you everyone who follows me I really appreciate it! With lots of newbies entering the land of Glowology – I think it’s a good time to let you know more about me and my ideas and how I plan to connect with my lovely readers.

As a girl, Jackie, My Guy and Smash Hits Magazines were the highlight of my week. This meant experimenting with hair snapping perms spritzed liberally with Sun-In (a lethal combination – hair was literally smoking!) sewing patches onto my denim flares and shrinking crisp packets in the oven to make into badges for my oversized school blazer. Not to mention french kissing my hand as practice for the school disco (don’t tell me you didn’t do that?)

I then progressed to Cosmo and during school holidays would flick the glossy pages with stomach flipping delight while lying on a piece of tin foil in the garden. I’d be liberally smothered in factor 0 carrot oil to try and get the deepest, California model inspired tan possible. So when I turned 19 and the fates aligned and I found myself working in that Cosmo office as a beauty junior I felt I had died and gone to heaven. Fast forward many years, I’m honoured to say I have had (and am still having) an amazing career in women’s magazines – writing for titles such as Prima, How to Spend it and Sunday Times Style about beauty, fitness, diet, fashion and health. And of course, I’m also enjoying my weekly Midlife Mum column at Love It! Magazine.

My Glowology blog and social platforms were started because I wanted to use my passion, experience and knowledge, to help you (and me!) discover what can make us feel and look fabulous from midlife and beyond. So, what can I offer you? I like to share my honest and truthful – often unconventional – advice and easy (I don’t do faff) tips on skincare, makeup, style, wellbeing and confidence and am always happy to answer any questions in this arena that you might have. I like to have a laugh and want you to as well – but most of all, I want you to know that whatever your age, we are in this together and becoming invisible is not an option – midlife is a new beginning. It’s our time to GLOW.

Over the coming months, I’m going to be working hard and aim to bring you more than my blog and Instagram. I am looking to try some how-to videos with makeup, fashion and skincare tips and beauty must-haves. Plus I’ll be bringing out a newsletter that will keep you up to date with skincare and beauty discounts and great value offers…and lots of other exciting stuff to keep midlife positive and fabulous. I would be delighted if you would be one of the first to sign up! You can sign up to my newsletter here on the home page

I can’t wait to bring you more midlife magnificence – welcome to Glowology!
