Get Fit Fast At Home

I was slipping and sliding about on the way to the park for my daily dogwalk and knew there was no way I was going to do my normal brisk walk to the gym to catch the 9.30 class. So, did I just forget it and give in to my desire for the sofa and biscuits before starting work at my desk? Nope (oh, believe me, I was soooo tempted!) But instead I turned to my old pal, Google, typed in Get Fit At Home and voila! I came across fitness expert Lucy Wyndham-Read…

Now, I’m pretty good at talking the talk – “yay, let’s all get fit and feel healthy and strong as we get old, instead of being saggy old, procrastinating bags that can’t be arsed!” But in reality, I do often share more of the saggy procrastinating old bag vibe than strong, fit and healthy! Although, since January and starting my Mel Robbins #MindSetReset, I’ve definitely upped my game! You can read more about how in my last post linked here.

Back to Lucy Wyndham-Read…she is an amazingly clever 48 year old fitness expert who has tapped into the fact that many of us don’t want to slog it out at the gym every day or get involved in really hard, long-winded workout schedules. Some of us do – and I salute you! But…most of us don’t. Generally, we are a nation of quick-fixers aren’t we? Combine that with the power to procrastinate being many a 50 plus year old woman’s number one super-power, then short, simple, non-complicated fitness workouts that get results (judging by Lucy’s gazillions of followers on YouTube and Instagram and other social profiles, they really do) and the fact that they can be done at home – at any time – then you’re on to a winning formula. Lucy is also extremely knowledgable about all aspects of wellbeing from fitness to nutrition to positive self-confidence and health. She has written many books on these subjects, appeared in women’s magazines and has also been interviewed on Sky News, BBC 1, Channel 4 and Channel 5.

I’ve just started doing her at home workout which I’m going to incorporate with my gym sessions and fitness classes (when it’s warm enough to get to the gym!) but I just wanted to let you know that if you want to get fit and shape up – or simply just start doing some activity that makes you feel good – and exercise really, really does (it’s medically proven!) Then, Lucy might be the woman you need to know about!

Check out Lucy’s YouTube Channel and link to her website below and let me know if you give the workouts a go! I’d love to think I’ve helped point you in the right direction to give you a gentle shove out of being Procrastinating Polly and into Fitspiration Fiona territory! 🙂

Here’s a link to Lucy’s website.

UPDATE: I’ve decided to try Lucy’s Menopause Weight loss and Health Bundle – so I’ll be reporting back on my progress!

This is exactly it – find what works for you. Home workouts? Fantastic. Gym training? Fantastic. Swimming? Fantastic. They’re all excellent forms of exercise. Find the one you enjoy and keep doing it. Making fitness a habit is the key as we all know ❤❤

Absolutely! Making it a habit is the key – and just keeping active everyday. Thank you for your constant support of my blog Tracey – and your amazing fitness inspo on Instagram! 🙂 Lisa xx

Sounds like you have really caught the fitness bug Lisa! Good for you. I am encouraged but not enough to remove myself from the sofa right now! There is so much available for us to google and do at home right now and I am very good at pinning ideas for later particularly when in bed at night and then never getting round to actually doing it. I need to make changing that one of my New Year’s resolutions. Happy Monday x

Haha! I know the sofa is sooooo tempting on these cold, dreary days isn’t it?! But you know what – you’re pinning ideas – that’s a start at least! Also, what you need to do is try and harness that feeling of how fab you feel after a workout (it’s one of the best feelings, I think) then it will prompt you to getting over the crap ‘ can’t be arsed’ and just do it! Good luck with it xxx
