The Latest CACI Super Facial

I’ve always been a fan of CACI treatments and remember that when they first came out – many years ago – they were heralded as the non-surgical ‘facelift’ responsible for the ever-youthful complexions of celebrities such as Jennifer Lopez, Jennifer Aniston and Sadie Frost. Before long, many well preserved celebrities admitted to regular CACI micro-current facials to keep the dreaded saggy, hang-dog jowls at bay. I recently wrote about how much Anthea Turner loves them for their firming benefits too and you can read that post here.

CACI were the first of their kind, but there soon spawned forth a multitude of high-tech facials claiming to give skin a ‘red-carpet’ glow. I’m lucky enough to have tried most of these treatments – I mean, who can resist the promise of firmer, tighter, youthful complexion? And if there is no knife in sight, I’m even more interested.

The ones I’ve written about for this blog have made a positive difference to my skin and I would happily recommend them, but there are a few that haven’t made the grade. After all of my years testing and trialling treatments, I’ve come to the conclusion that you can pay quite a lot for some facials that won’t give you much more than a good at home facial scrub and a moisturising mask would give you – except for an empty wallet!

Even as beautifying treatments come thick and fast with updated technology offering new claims of anti-ageing, the classic CACI treatment has always remained on top of the beauty editor’s list. So now, here they are offering a new and improved version and guess who was one of the first to try it? ME! I took my over-tanned face (sorry, skin experts!) to Seduire London Beauty clinic in Soho on Frith Street, W1, as fast as my flip-flopped feet would carry me.

So, what’s it all about?

This might sound a little Star Trek, but bear with…The CACI Synergy system is the next generation in CACI anti-ageing technology and introduces pioneering S.P.E.D™ (simultaneous photo electrical delivery) dual action technology. This is a breakthrough new advancement that delivers simultaneous LED skin rejuvenation and microcurrent facial toning to stimulate tissue regeneration and help repair collagen which helps provide longer lasting skin results.

Synergy also uses orbital skin resurfacing, ultrasonic skin cleansing and CACI’s unique ‘Wrinkle Comb’ (a non-invasive alternative to dermal fillers) to address all anti-ageing skin concerns. Fantastically, this one system peels, cleanses, tones and tackles deep lines and wrinkles for a total anti-ageing treatment and is suitable for men and women.

What happened to me?

I loved it! 90 minutes of some of the strangest feelings my face has felt – cold, warm, wet, tingly, scrape-y, smoothing, relaxing, twitching…nothing was painful at all but most of it wasn’t a comfortable ‘relax and drift off to noddy land’ type of vibe. Although, that to me, was a good sign – I could feel my skin actually working – the muscles tightening and the skin being smoothed. That said, I did get to zone out a bit at the end as the divine moisturising mask got to work nourishing and completing the complexion boosting treat.

I expected to look in the mirror to find my holiday tan gone, but in fact, because the treatment had encouraged ‘shedding’ of my crocodile tanned skin, I was left with a much more glow-y and healthier Elle McPherson-on-the-beach shade rather than the crispy-David-Dickinson-mahogany I had gone in with! The lift around my eyes and jowls was the best part for me.

My final verdict?

Although before the treatment I already looked quite ‘well’  (due to the tan from a fortnight in Spain) I actually felt my colour had been hiding a multitude of sins. I was a bit puffy and tired from having totally made the most of beach cocktails, sunshine and my sister’s anniversary celebrations, but  glancing at my reflection on leaving the salon, I finally looked rested and bright – like I’d had a long, chilled out stay in a detox retreat in Bali rather than a huge party and drink up in the Costa del Sol!

The CACI Synergy Non-Surgical Facial is 90 minutes and starts at £120 and is available nationwide. Click here for more information.

Disclosure: This was a complimentary treatment offered to me by CACI but it in no way affects my decision on whether to review it or not. I only review treatments or products that I buy, or that are offered free to me by PRs, if I feel they are of interest to my readers or if I truly like them myself.

I am forever in search of the wonder facial particularly as my big 50 is just around the corner. A friend recommended the Collagen Facial at the Glasshouse as being quite fabulous too. Have you tried it? I never really got onto the CACI bandwagon but your skin does look fab so maybe I will give it a go.

      Hi Jo

Thanks for commenting. I’ve never had a collagen facial but I do prefer ‘treatments’ rather than softly, softly spa facials for getting big results. I do love aromatherapy and massage facials for the wellbeing aspect and many work well as complexion boosters but I find the extras such as micro-current ‘lifting’ and microdermabrasion or/and pharmaceutical grade products/peels can deliver a little extra! As with most facials/treatments, a one off can give immediate results but you often need a course to keep up the benefits. Let me know if you have a collagen or other type of facial – would love to know how you get on! Xx
